Course description
Swimming is a beneficial aquatic activity for children, promoting both physical development and self-confidence.
Swimming lessons provide children with the opportunity to learn the basics of swimming while having fun in the water. In this description, we will present an equivalence of the different levels of swimming courses for children.
From Aquababy to Starfish level, each course is specifically designed to meet the needs and abilities of children at various stages of their aquatic development.
Discover the objectives, prerequisites, and skills acquired at each stage, to choose the most suitable course for your child and accompany them in their aquatic learning journey with confidence.
This course is an introduction and acclimatization to water. Children will learn to become familiar with the aquatic environment through games and activities that introduce different skills such as breathing, floating, and leg movements.
Prerequisites: Children must be between 1.5 and 2 years old before the start of the course.
This course is an introduction and familiarization to water. Children will learn to become familiar with the aquatic environment through games and activities that introduce different skills such as breathing, floating, and leg movements.
Prerequisites: Children must be between 2 and 3 years old before the start of the course.
The objective of this course is to help the child overcome their fear of water and feel comfortable putting their head underwater without crying. They will learn to float on their stomach and back, as well as move using the “doggy paddle” technique over a distance of 5 meters. Parents will participate in the initial sessions of the course to provide assistance, but they will be gradually withdrawn starting from the fourth session to promote the child’s independence within the course.
Prerequisites: Completion of the Aquababy course and/or being between 3 and 4 years old before the start of the course.
Introduction and acclimatization to water course for children aged 4-5 years who have previously completed the Starfish 1 swimming course or are beginners and have never taken swimming lessons. The child will learn to jump independently in shallow water, put their head underwater, and float on their stomach and back. By the end of the course, they should be able to move a distance of 5 meters using the “doggy paddle” technique.
Prerequisites: The child must be between 4 and 5 years old before the start of the course and/or have completed the Starfish 1 course. If your child is aged between 4 and 5 and has never taken swimming lessons, you can register them at this level. However, they should be independent enough to participate in the course without a caregiver. If they are too afraid of the water, we recommend enrolling them in Starfish 1.
The child learns to glide on their stomach and back. They improve their leg movements for the crawl and backstroke using an object. They learn to jump independently in the deep end and return to the pool edge by themselves.
Prerequisites: The child must be under 6 years old before the end of the course and must have successfully completed the Starfish 2 course. This course is designed for a child who is very comfortable in the water, capable of fully submerging their face while controlling their breathing, able to float on their stomach and back, and can move without assistance for a distance of 5 meters.
